Code of ethics

As a digital news publisher, Kasba follows the Code of Ethics in Part III and the Appendix of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. This includes:

1. The Norms of Journalistic Conduct of the Press Council of India
2. The Programme Code under section 5 of the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act, 1995
3. Not publishing content prohibited under any law in force

What this means in practice

• Accuracy: every fact comes from an official source, linked in every story.
• Fairness: we keep news separate from opinion.
• Privacy and dignity: nothing about an individual without a sound basis.
• Corrections: mistakes are corrected openly (Corrections policy).
• Complaints: a grievance redressal process with time limits.
